Awasqa operates a website, found at www.awasqa.org; operates a Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube pages; delivers newsletters and other content via email; and makes the same or similar content available to mobile users. We use the IP address and geo location logs in an aggregate fashion to track broken links and international access to our site. Log data is used in aggregate to analyze usage of our website and location.

What do we do with the information we gather about you?

Statistical analysis
Awasqa may perform statistical, demographic, and marketing analyses of subscribers and their subscribing patterns, for marketing and customer service purposes.

Email newsletters 
If you choose to receive them, Awasqa will periodically send you email newsletters. Awasqa will not share, sell, rent, swap, or authorize any third party to use your email address. We may send you an email inviting you to participate in user surveys. If you feel you have received an email from us in error, including promotional emails about workshops, events, or fundraising campaigns, please contact info [at] awasqa.org.

Your email address

If you send us email, you should be aware that information disclosed in email may not be secure or encrypted and thus may be available to others. We suggest that you exercise caution when deciding to disclose any personal or confidential information via email. Please do not send credit card information via email. This is better conveyed via a secure form on our website. We will use your email address to respond directly to your questions or comments.

Awasqa readers may use the “email this article” feature to send links to articles to others through email. The email address(es) that you supply to this service will only be used to send the requested article.

Is your information protected?

Data security
Although we take appropriate measures to safeguard your information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. To further protect your data, we recommend that you use complex passwords for your accounts with us and for accounts with third parties that you link to any of your accounts with us. Please do not use the same passwords you use for your account with us for other services or share your password with unauthorized people. If you have reason to believe that your interaction with us is no longer secure, please immediately notify us via our Contact Form.

Data retention
We keep your information for no longer than is necessary. We will retain your information for any period required by law. Where we are not under a legal obligation to retain your information, we will determine what is necessary by reference to the lawful basis for processing set out above and our legitimate interests.

We do not intentionally collect nor retain any personally identifiable information from individuals under the age of 18.
